A hot and humid Saturday in the big city. Took Liam for his first real haircut this morning. He sat in my lap and was given a chocolate lollipop and stayed relatively calm. It was a special moment (one of those things you can only truly understand if you have children). We also enjoyed a visit with Karen's brother Mike and his family. We all went to the pool for a day of swimming and lunch. It was fun and bit embarrassing, when Liam had a blowout and closed down the baby pool. At least he waited until the last weekend of the summer.
Also took Liam out to the mall in Towson (note: I hate malls and really get lost in them with relative ease.) We went there and bought Liam a new pair of sneakers. He wears an 8.5 extra wide. Hard to believe, considering he's only one.
Weird news item this evening. Someone stabbed a llama to death at a zoo in Salisbury. Sad, sad world.
Tomorrow we are going to dinner at Mark and Tracy's house. Tracy and Karen used to work together at PACT and they have a daughter a little younger than Liam. I've got some work to do for the course I'm teaching this semester and it's also pretty late.

I will take the time to introduce myself later. Today, I found out that my father's PSA levels, after his radiation treatments, went up to 74. I know this can't be good. Funny way to start your blog. Worrying about how long your father may have left to live. I don't know much about this cancer but I know it will probably kill him. Or at least I'm resigned to this. Well, clearly, life sucks right now. But it also goes on.
