I for one have never been a big fan of the military. While I understand the presumed need to defend our country, the wars I have experienced in my lifetime have had little to do with defending our country. In reality, they have been born more out of fear and politics, personal agendas and the like. But today, I put all of that aside to think about those who are merely the pawns in the game. The mostly young soldiers who have given their lives for our country because it's their job. They have the courage and fortitude to go into battle for something they cannot really see, touch or hear. I'd admire and salute them for their sacrifice and look forward to the day when there will no more. The day when they can all come home and just relax.
