So, it's been awhile since I've taken time to write about the comings and goings of things. Partly because I've been a little busy looking for work or doing freelance, or just plain taking care of things here at home.
A good friend of mine suggested I put my job search info out here on my blog and I will be doing that later this week. I'll probably just throw my resume and 'mission statement' up here to give clarity to those who want to help. I do know that I will be teaching design in the fall, since I was just offered an adjunct position at a local college as well as my usual stint at the Institute. And to top if off, at the end of the week, I have an interview with a small branding firm about fifteen minutes outside the city. The cool thing is they contacted me after seeing my work on AIGA's site. Either way, something needs to happen soon, either more freelance (not that I'm not working hard on that, just haven't won any big projects recently) or a full-time opportunity that is within my pay needs.
Before I wake up the kids, let me tell you about the passing of an era. It's kind of funny, and I'm not sure it means anything but here it is. After 24 years, honestly, there sits on my wrist something other than a Swatch. This classic design graces my wrist mainly because it was available at a local store and less expensive than a Swatch. The band on mine having broken and being unwearable. Not to fear Swatch fans, while I love the classic design of my current timepiece, a Swatch watch will return to its proper place once the job front brightens. And now, it's time to wake Izzy and Liam for school.
